Luggage Box Advantages

The luggage box is a suitcase-sized shipping container that makes ditching the bags for a more organized travel experience possible without resorting to expensive checked baggage fees. The boxes are designed to accommodate most suitcases and include handles in a similar pattern as a traditional suitcase, enabling travelers to just pack their stuff, drop it off at a UPS store and print a return label to send it home again when they’re done.

Easier Labeling – It’s easier to secure a shipping label to a luggage box than it is to a suitcase, which often has multiple zippers or straps and can be awkward to grip when empty. If you don’t have a luggage box, your local UPS Store or FedEx Office can help you attach a shipping label to a suitcase handle using materials they have on hand (some locations also offer specialized labels for luggage).

Predictable Pricing – It’s easier to budget for your shipment when you ship a luggage box because the size and weight of straps, wheels and handles aren’t factored into the billable dimensions. Boxes are a little more expensive than suitcases, but not by much.

Durability – While bagged packaging is more flexible and conforms to the product, it provides less protection than a box, especially for fragile items or high-value products. On the other hand, boxes have more structural integrity and can be stacked to minimize storage space when not in use.
